Sweet!!  You won't regret it.  And neither will your buddy.  Speaking of weddings, World Ducati Week is June10-14 and my anniversary is June 9.  I thought I could talk the wife into making a return trip to Italy(we honeymooned there) for our anniversary.  Oh, and go to World Superbike at Misano too.  She said "you should go".  Meaning alone.  Too much motorcycle stuff for her.  So.....I can go to the biggest Ducati party of the last 3 years, and the SBK race, in Italy, by myself, on my anniversary, and be a tool.  Or I can do the right thing and stay home and spend my anniversary with my wife.   Cry  Itlaly is wonderful that time of year....

I have just received this word from the organizer on the 2010 Project Mugello at Indy MotoGP:

I have some cool upgrades in the works for Indy, so if you are planning your 2010 travel schedule, Indy is going to be the most Ducati "bang for the buck" of 2010.

I have no idea what that means, exactly, but whatever it is will surely make this can't-miss event even better!

Of course I'm going to Moto GP Indy, this will be my 3rd straight year.. No sense in missing it now that I have a reputation to upkeep.. Besides I need the Staff T-Shirt to add to my collection.

However, Capo, you really should take your wife's blessing and come with me to WPM & WDW.  I'd celebrate the anniversary early with something nice for her, and then fly over with me and the guys from Desmodromiclub Kansas City..  They have a huge party planned with the Desmodromiclub Roma for us..  Jim Wildeman, Il Capo of Desmodromi KC is my good buddy and you'd be more than welcome with us..
I've just had an email from Marco at DOC and he gave me some of the logistics.. Bikes will be reserved for each President to use the entire week. We start at the Factory in Borgo Panigale after the factory tour, luncheon and Corse Shop tour.  Then ride to Misano Circuit for the Moto GP at Misano, with lodging in the seaside towns of Cattolicca,  Misano Adriatco, & Rimini. Then we ride on daily tours, factories to be visited include: Ferrarri, Lamborghini, Moto Morini, etc. with overnights planned when needed. (vans will shuttle our luggage behind us). We get some track days at Mugello and Misano, and ride the Futa Pass. WPM will be back in Misano and should be a blast.  He wouldn't tell me what's in the goodie bags for the President's, however in recent years they've given away Ducati watches and phones.

Also, for the Bravest;  Mark your calendars, May 29, Desmodromiclub Kansas City will be sponsoring an Iron Butt ride. Leaving from Kansas City, MO and ending in Limon, CO. 1500+ miles in under 24 hours.  I'll be attempting that epic ride.
If any Rombo Rosso members are interested in trying to make it into the record books of the Iron Butt Association, let me know and I'll set-up a local East Coast 1500 mile ride..

Ride Safe, Ride Italian

Glorious memories of the Indy Mile go back for decades. Top riders always have coveted a win at this race, long considered the "Crown Jewel" of AMA Pro Racing's oldest and most tradition-rich professional racing series, the Flat Track Grand National series.

After a hiatus that began in 1999, the race returned to the Indiana State Fairgrounds in 2008 to record-breaking crowds. In 2009, a near-capacity crowd again returned to witness another night of sliding, drafting, handlebar-to-handlebar duels, with 140-mph straightaway speeds and inches-close finishes. As a special treat in 2009, motorcycle racing legend "King" Kenny Roberts electrified the crowd with a no-holds barred, high-revving, three-lap curtain call on the infamous Yamaha TZ-750 he rode to victory in 1975. Racing for glory and World Championship points will start with a 23-lap 125cc event at noon and follow with a 26-lap event at 1:15 p.m. for Moto2, featuring Americans Kenny Noyes and Roger Lee Hayden. The world's best riders, including Americans Nicky Hayden, Colin Edwards and Ben Spies, will compete in the 28-lap MotoGP race at 3 p.m. Web: http://www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com/redbullindianapolisgp/

I did not(I'm a lazy bum and wanted to get to bed early, and a cheapskate - it's like $40) but the guy I go with every year did go see it last year and it was quite a show he tells me.  A bunch of the GP riders were there to watch, a guy almost got killed, literally, when he flipped his bike and catapulted through the air and hit a light pole like 25 feet in the air.  You can see a couple pages of pics from the race at this gallery here:

Back home at 3:30am this morning.  Had a great weekend.  Lots to see and do.  Over 2,000 pics to sort through, but once I've got that job done I'll post up the gallery and link to it here.  *Phew*  I need a nap!
